My take on a sketch layout from Creative Scrappers
The last 2 years I have done Project Life using a 12×12 album for the year. Though I still love the 12×12 size, this year it just seems a bit overwhelming with all the different project ideas I plan on completing through out the year – so I’m going with a 6×8 album. I was torn for a few days or so about which one to choose between the new Heidi Swapp black and white memory planner, the new Heidi Swapp limited Gold journal planner kit or the new Simple Stories Life Documented Planner collection. A couple of weeks later and I’m going with the Gold journal planner kit.
For the 12×12 I did the albums using the week by week format. This year with the 6×8, my snapshots will be on a monthly basis capturing those specific moments, memories and thoughts. Since i’m so used to doing Project Life on a weekly basis i’m playing around a little to see what will work best for me, if I wait to the end of the month to do the month or do the pages bi-weekly so I don’t get too far behind.
I completed January about the 1st week in February and it was so much at one time deciding on what pictures to choose and so forth.
For February, I started in the 3rd week with some pictures and journaling notes but haven’t done any embellishing yet, which I plan on finishing by the end of the week.
I must say I’m really loving the 6×8 because I’m spending a fraction of time in comparison to the 12×12.
This year I decided to take the One Little Word class by Ali Edwards. For those not familiar it’s a year long class with monthly prompts for you to journal about your one little word that you want to make happen through out the year.
My One Little Word is HARMONY. For the last few years I haven’t been quite able to pull it together in certain areas of my life and I have spread myself way to thin. So this year I declare to get my life back in balance and this class is a great way to help me visualize it and make it applicable.
Here is snapshot of my cover page.
I will be using a combination of the Simple Stories Daily Grind kit and the 6×8 Sn@p inserts for my foundation pages and adding other embellishments as I go along.
2013 has been a great year in sales at the craft shows I have attended. To my surprise my best sellers have been my journals. I’ve embellished quite a few of the Brag Books by Fancy Pants Designs and composition books – they were adored by many. A special thanks to all for your genuine love and support.
“State of Mind” Journal
“State of Mind” with scripture Psalm 4:23 – the title was inspired by a conversation I had years ago with a relative. I was constantly complaining about a situation. I remember so clearly him saying that it was my state of mind and if I would see it from a different perspective it would completely change my attitude. And it did.
Years later those 3 simple words still resonate and this is my way of sharing and hoping that as you write/journal your state of mind will also see the brighter side of life.
The journals are divided into 12 sections with 6 journaling pages, two slot photo page protector to store up to 4 pictures and a pocket folder page in each section.
